Now that I have retired from teaching kindergarten in a large urban
district after 34 years I have time to pursue my passion -helping
animals. I am a volunteer for STOLA (Saluki Tree of Life Alliance,
Inc.), the Italian Greyhound Club of America/Italian Greyhound Rescue
Foundation, Inc. and East Coast IG Rescue.
Having loved animals even as a child (I was the one who brought all
the hurt ones home to help them -even a snake, much to my mother's
dismay) - I am always ready to help an animal in need.
Photography and painting are my two other interests. Of course, dogs
are my first love both to paint and to photograph but I also enjoy
taking photos of cats, landscapes, florals and other things that
catch my eye.
Classes taught by Fran Nola for watercolor painting helped me develop
the use of color as well as the medium itself. Have also taken many
online classes to learn digital painting techniques.
When painting digitally, I use Corel Painter X and a Wacom Tablet.
Photoshop also comes into play sometimes.
Traditional painting is done on D'Arches water color paper with
Winsor & Newton watercolor paints.
I live in MA with my husband Steve, 2 Salukis, 4 Italian Greyhounds
and a foster Saluki. Sure keeps me busy but I enjoy them all so much.
